Common Ground’s New Milestones Project encouraged a new generation of towns, villages and countryside sculptures commissioned by local communities. It stimulated the creation of small scale works of the imagination which express our sense of history, our love of place and the natural world. This book reviews the New Milestone project and shows by example that anyone can initiate the commissioning of sculpture in the land.
